Manor is a Swiss chain of department stores and supermarkets, based in Basel, which brings together Manor branded stores and those specializing in Athleticum branded sports. It Was established in 1902 as “Léon Nordmann” store by wholesalers Ernest and Henri Maus, together with retailer Léon Nordmann.

Now Manor Group consists of 59 department store, 28 supermarket Manor Food, and 27 restaurants Manora and sells more than
one million of products of 2,800 different suppliers.
Manor Group has a market share of more than 60% and employing about 11,000 employees.

The customer was looking for a centralized solution of simple application, which would guarantee energy savings on the entire electrical network, in total safety for the electrical loads.

The project

In February 2012, the Manor Group began testing the EP-X System on 4 pilot stores: Solothurn, Sion, Basel and Lugano. Following the pilot projects on the first 4 PV, further installations of the EP-X system were carried out over the next 24 months at a further 34 sites (shopping centers and supermarkets) of the Manor chain in Switzerland, for a total of 38 installations, with a managed global power of about 15,000 kW.

The aggregate average breakdown of managed electrical loads on all sites is approximately as follows:

• 35% refrigeration
• 25% lighting
• 20% Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
• 10% cooking equipment
• 10% miscellaneous utilities
